Title explains it all. Granted, many people who edit only with IP's are good faith editors, but the majority of them are just here to vandalize. Therefore, I propose that we make it so all pages are only editable by registered users. It may be an inconvenience to people who edit in good faith, but if you do that much editing why not get an account anyway? Just an idea...--YabbaMyIcing 02:55, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

It's not really worth it, imo. Firstly, I wouldn't say the majority of anons are vandals, only a few. We don't really have that much trouble with vandalism. I personally find misguided editing (poor edits made with good intentions) a lot more difficult to deal with. And the thing that concerns me most about the 'inconvenience' angle, is that many regular contributors like us started with a few tiny edits as anonymous users, and - having found out how much they enjoy contributing - then gone on to create an account. If a new user has to sign up for an account before they fix a few spelling errors, they may just not bother in the first place and never get any deeper into it. It's not like that'd be the end of the world, but we need all the contributors we can get. --MattyDienhoff 06:10, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Wow, I totally forgot about the few edits that make you want to create an account. What you said was true, and I have been viewing and visiting this wiki since last January and made a couple of IP edits. I guess I didn't fully think it through.--YabbaMyIcing 07:16, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
The way I see it, a bad idea is only a black mark on your record if you did fully think it through, and still didn't see anything wrong with it. :P --MattyDienhoff 08:28, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Matty is overall right. I'd add that a wiki is open to everyone, that's one of its main purpose. Even if it's better to do so, you can't force people to register. And there also are registered users that add worse stuff than unregistered ones. Being registered is not a quality guarantee. Klow 14:54, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah. I hesitated to ask it at first, but I have been on a few other wiki's where they didn't allow IP's to edit and we never had a problem with people still joining and keeping the community alive. I see now that it's not that big of a deal so we can just deal with things as they come.--YabbaMyIcing 19:56, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
