I recently started posting on these forums, and I must admit, I've gone a bit overboard. This topic, however, is a bit more selfish than my previous ones.
I am very interested in the portal storms that led up to the Combine invasion, and have, what is in my mind, a good idea for a novel based on the events. I was curious, would anyone be interested in reading a story in the Half-Life universe that does not star Freeman, Shepard, or Chell?
I obviously would love to eventually send a copy to Valve to see what they think, as I'd love to etch my little place in this great story, but I'd also be just as happy posting a little piece of fan fiction somewhere, if anyone would enjoy it!I am the Alpha and the LAMBDA 06:43, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Where would you put it?Prospektor 18:46, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Half-Life2.net forums would probably be a good place, they've got a forum section for fan fiction iirc. Anyway, sure, I'd like to read it when it's done! --MattyDienhoff 15:44, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Anything to do with the portal storms really gets me going, and you sound like you really know what you're talking about on the subject of half life. Accuracy + good subject + good story line = perfection. Go for it buddy, we'd love to hear it when it's done!Dylan Bobson 16:41, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Can I star in it? :D Prospektor 19:02, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah this sounds great, but I didnt know Chell from Portal is related to Half-Life
Portal is set in the Aperture Science research facility, and Aperture Science is a contemporary competitor to Black Mesa. The Borealis, which is the focal point of the next game, was built by Aperture. Same universe, but as to whether its related is yet to be seen!
What I would most like to see is a series of books set in the Half Life universe but maybe set during the Seven Hour War, the time between Gordon's outings maybe showcasing a younger Eli, Alyx and Kleiner. I just haven't read any good books in a while lol 128hoodmario 19:09, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
