Textures From Final Metrocop[edit]

Two of the textures on this page, the hand palm and "misc" appear to be textures from the final metrocop, or at least early versions thereof. "Misc" is an alternatively colored variant the devices attached to the metrocop's belt while the palm is just a darker version of the palm. --Paynamia (talk) 03:02, 17 September 2018 (MSK)

Yes, you're correct on both textures. I've removed those and incorporated the correct hand textures. Marphy (talk) 05:49, 17 September 2018 (MSK)

Merging/nuking this article[edit]

There isn't that much actual content in this article to begin with. Why not compress it further to what matters the most and move that information into Civil Protection and Combine Soldier articles? Half of this article's volume is the textures, which could be compressed into a single sheet composite. This way we won't have a needless separation into "Combine Guard (synth)" and this one, because way more people recognise "Combine Guard" as the synth enemy, and having this separate page, as if the human Combine Guard was at any point an actual enemy name (and not just a design prototype), is unnecessary. I agree that the Synth Combine Guard is the far more recognized entity under this name, but rather than delete this article, I'd rather move the current Combine Guard (Synth) article to just Combine Guard and link this Combine Guard (human) article from there in a Youmayd template. Such a distinction is made for a similar shared name circumstance with the Resistance and Resistance (multiplayer map) articles.
Regarding the merit of this article's existence, I believe there's just enough material to warrant its own article. "Combine Guard" is its own named image in Raising the Bar, is again referenced by this name in the caption (if it didn't have any featured title whatsoever, which some subject matters covered here do indeed lack, I'd be much less inclined to think it justifies its own article), has multiple (albeit redundant) pieces of concept art showing this design, and is unique in that the model exists only in texture form but nonetheless also includes the "ghost" image which comprises our only surviving visual of what the missing model actually looks like. This is a decent amount of information to unravel and collect into one place, and I don't feel it warrants wedging it all into the Metro Cop or Combine Soldier articles which are already very lengthy on their own and don't need this material shared between both of them, again giving reason for this one article being a central source that they can each reference by linking to it.
