A character?[edit]

Just wondering, how is the Garden Gnome a character? It's an object. A character is a person/alien/npc or whatever not a gnome, right?? --Donovan-j-charlie 01:17, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

You're right. I've been thinking that. Let's remove it from the characters. Klow 13:14, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Yay, i'm actually helping instead of creating and talking about poinless things...it had to happen eventually. --Donovan-j-charlie 00:56, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

I think it's funny to consider him a character, even though he is most clearly an object. After all, gnomes ARE in fact alive. Take the one staring at me from my back door window...--Xboxannihilator 16:47, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Entity Type[edit]

In the blue box with affiliation, used by, and such information should the "entity" tab under game information be changed from "n/a" to "prop_physics" since that is what kind of entity the gnome is?-Shadgrimgrvy 4:27, 3 September 2009 (UT)

The achievement is not recieved at once?[edit]

As soon as I put the Gnome in the rocket, I got the achievement.

I was playing on Xbox 360, not the Steam version. --66.59.98.194 09:10, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Travelocity gnome?[edit]

I know it is kinda uncool to think of Valve as having product placement in their games, but I think it's pretty obvious this is at least somewhat based on the Travelocity Gnome, because he looks almost exactly the same, and he does a lot of traveling. --24.72.49.251 16:13, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

  • I'm pretty sure they got the idea from the film "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain", where the main character, Amelie, mails her father's garden gnome across the world with instructions for the next recipient to take a picture of the gnome and forward it to a new destination before finally arriving back to her father's address. When he sees that the inanimate little gnome has visited more places than he has, it inspires him to pick himself up and go see the world.

Easy way to achieve[edit]

I think it should be noted that the use of cheats does not disable your ability to get the achievement. I got it on the Xbox 360 using the invincibility cheat throughout the whole game and I got the achievement! Hey, I was irritated. I had enough of that god damn achievement and I just wanted to get it.--Xboxannihilator 16:44, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

It does on PC Freekkiller7 14:30, May 3, 2010 (UTC)
