Steam[edit]

I move we change the article's name to "Opposing Force", because Steam calls it that. Arnavion 12:32, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Or we just keep it named as Half-Life: Opposing Force. --Donovan-j-charlie 16:08, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Some facts[edit]

It should be mentioned: 1. Shephard does not receive his orders, but later finds out that the marines were sent on orders to silence the scientists 2. The black ops are FOES of the player.

Gordon Freeman Glitch[edit]

It should be noted that the glitch where it crashes when you see Gordon Freeman is only on the steam version, and the retail ones are bug-free. Fortunately, there's a way to avoid the glitch; you'll need to move around the teleporter beam using noclip, as it crashes. You'll need to disable noclip to get through the one field where Adrian goes to Xen, though.

Is there any way to solve the glitch without cheating? I want to do OF without cheats. --Donovan-j-charlie 12:41, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Sadly, no.

Yes there is, right click the game and select "Properties." Then go to "Set Launch Options" under "General" and type "-autoconfig" It should work after that.

Ugh, ehm... 26.3.2009 VALVe made an update, so this problem is gone now. Try it. ;)

Game Shut Offs[edit]

Before I make a multiplayer match my game sometimes shuts down. Is there anyway to fix it? P.S. is happens on Half-Life Game of the year edition.

Do you need to have the original?[edit]

Do you need to have the original Half-Life to play this? I sound like an almighty idiot but I've never played this so... Rise and Shine Dr. Freeman 18:26, July 2, 2011 (UTC)

No, it's a standalone game. Bramblepath 20:00, July 2, 2011 (UTC)

Right thanks for that. Rise and Shine Dr. Freeman 10:25, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Standalone version?[edit]

My parents are too "poor" to buy me a game? POOR? No...they just DON'T WANT TO WASTE MONEY...but this is only 10-30 dollars it's not too expensive...I'd like to ask if there is standalone version of this game because the one from internet doesnt work properly(only the shortcut appears but doesnt start TheBloxxingBlocks (talk) 08:12, 15 December 2014 (GMT)

It's only 3,99€. We don't support piracy, so add me on Steam and I will buy it for you. Pixeled sandvich.png18 (Commentary node transparent.png) 08:17, 15 December 2014 (GMT)
