To do[edit]

  • Needs a pic of "Hunted". If only Crafty Application's profiles worked... Klow 09:20, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

Multiplayer maps[edit]

The background of the picture of the Osprey unloading troops at the beginning of the page contains structures which look similar to the DM map Crossfire. Worth noting? Also, it might be a good idea if we make pages for official DM maps. 77.165.190.28 09:58, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Disputing the ICBMs being nukes[edit]

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the missiles seen in the tripmine warehouse are likely not nukes, just going by what's presented in-game and nothing else. When entering the sniper hallway in c2a5e (the next map over), one can see a pretty large but definitely not nuclear-sized explosion right above where the devs seem to have just sort of guessed the tripmine warehouse. The explosion itself also seems to be caused via a chain reaction by a much smaller and closer to the player explosion, further implying in my eyes that that explosion is supposed to be coming from the tripmine warehouse. -Gulliblepikmin 16:27, 17 September 2024 (MSK)

The Prima Opposing Force guide does specifically call an identical rocket seen in the chapter Friendly Fire that's similarly explosive a "Nuclear Missile" and even advises not blowing up the "warhead". Internally, it's called a "missile" and "nuke". However, for the purposes of addressing what can verifiably be said about Half-Life 1, these rockets in the booby-trapped building in Surface Tension are not internally referred to by any name. In HL1's Prima guide, they're simply called "giant rockets". This doesn't offer much insight as the one major rocket featured in the game in On A Rail is simply a satellite delivery rocket, but the booby-trapped rockets in Surface Tension are obviously very explosive. Although there are indications the Surface Tension rockets are meant to be nuclear devices, we'll just go with the "rockets" name that they're referred to as.
Also, in regards to the explosions in the middle of c2a5e, the internal entity names and sound names indicate these are caused by a large mortar strike, and an additional mortar strike does occur at the beginning of the same level. There's no indication the building blown up by the mortars is meant to be related to previously seen booby-trapped building. Marphy (talk) 02:10, 18 September 2024 (MSK)
