Barney

Barney is the nickname given to the generic security guard character in Half-Life. The original character model for the security guard resemble the actor Don Knotts as Barney Fife from The Andy Griffith Show, hence why they're called Barney.

Cycler
The cycler is an entity that allows the player to display and cycle through the different animations of a model. Shooting a cycle will cycle it to its next available animation. Using a cycler will cause it to pause its animation.

Zoo
Zoo maps are galleries used by the developers to display the certain items (such as models, particles, or shaders) for testing purposes.

Devtest
Devtest (developer test) are special maps that feature the key scenes of the game for testing purposes. They're also used for testing gameplay mechanics, scripts, engine features, and many other elements of the game.

Styleguide
Styleguide are special maps created by artists to inspire the level designers.
