Forum:Background image?
Am I the only one who thinks the background image is kind of annoying? If we must have a background we should have some kind of repeating artwork that isn't too intrusive, but sets the mood. The screenshot in the background looks a bit cheap. --MattyDienhoff 15:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Do you mean the image of City 17? I kinda think it's annoying and generally lame as well.

I don't really like the idea of using a screenshot as a background, but I have to admit the colours of the background image work really well. I also have to admit I don't have a better idea. :P
My main problem with the screenshot used for the background is that it's too small. It's only 1280x1024, and I'm using 1600x1200, so it "repeats" to fill the empty space which looks terrible. So, should I take a screenshot at the same spot but at a higher resolution, then edit it to make it look kind of blurry and "out of focus"? I think it'd look better that way, because it wouldn't be quite so intrusive, but the colours would still set the mood. Your thoughts, guys? --MattyDienhoff 03:47, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

I could make a background too. Maybe we could just simply have the HL2 or HL logo with a black background, it doesn't need to be a location.

Right, but like I said, I think the current background's muted colour scheme sets the mood nicely, but it looks intrusive. The latter problem is solved by blurring it. --MattyDienhoff 05:27, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Update
You should update to the current layout in your peferences, as there is no image for the new view. I'll look at the resplacement images and get RR to update the old layout anyways.
