Hey. Well, I've got an idea. I think we should standardize the images in articles for the different types of entities/objects/things in the Half-Life universe, just to make things a little more uniform.

I think we should go for a more in-game type thing with screenshots, like for the Fast Zombie article, it shows the Zombie in ravenholm. I think we should do this for every other article. Having screenshots of the character/thing with a plain, boring white background (like the Combine Soldiers) kinda makes it feel more like a dev site (which IS where the screenshots came from, the Source SDK wiki).

Anyways, what do you all think? It'd be like adding pictures to articles showing the entity in its natural habitat (Soldiers in combat, Zombies in infested areas, Headcrabs scurrying about in vents and catwalks, etc).

I just want to get some opinions before I do anything. Thanks for your time!

No replies? Very well, I shall begin changing the images to in-game natural habitat images. If you do not like what I am doing, you are in absolutely no position to be throwing insults to help get your opposition to the idea across. You had your chance to voice you opinion.

I think it's a great idea. I totally agree with you. Pictures of characters and objects against that white background just looks really boring. I'll try to help out aswell.

Little late adding my opinion, I've not been checking things recently on accounts of my internet being down at home recently, so I'd missed this thread, but yeah, this sounds like a pretty damned sensible idea.(Dylan)
Frankly, I think the white background images are better for the infobox, they show the subject of the article clearly with no unnecessary clutter in the background. I like the idea of adding an in-game screenshot too, if there's space elsewhere in the article, but I think the white background images should stay, they're concise and demonstrative. --MattyDienhoff 10:25, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
