Upload summary help

What follows is a list of fields and their respective templates available in the preset information template. Fill in any mandatory fields and other necessary fields before uploading your image.

Fields marked in red are mandatory.

  • Attention: this field generally won't be used on a new upload; it is used for specifying images which need attention.
  • Description: use this field to describe the file in detail: the part of the game it appears in, what the main subject is, etc.
  • Source: specify the source of the file. If it is taken from a game, link to the game's page; if the file is from a website, the URL is required.
  • Author: this is normally only required for art / concept art, to specify the creator of the image.
    • The author is not the uploader of the image.
  • Filespecs: use this field to specify any editing or changes the file has undergone from its original version.
    • Try to add only relevant information. Noting that the image has been cropped is not relevant, but something like color adjustments, repositioning or any cosmetic changes should be noted.
  • Model name: for model screenshots, this field should be used to specify the full path location and file name of the model displayed in the image.
  • Original name: should be used only for official pre-release screenshots to provide the original file name of the image, to give approximate location of the area in the screenshot in game.
  • Licensing: using the license drop-down menu, specify the relevant copyright information for the file.
    • Game screenshot - this is the most commonly used option, applying a Fair Use license to any in-game and model screenshots.
    • Generic fair use - a generic option for anything that can be considered Fair Use.
    • Set this field manually only if you are aware of how it works.
  • Other versions: indicates any similar or alternate versions of the uploaded file.
    • Within this field, insert a gallery (with <gallery>) to contain the images.
  • The cat fields allow for specifying relevant categories for the file.
    • Cat artist: place any categories here which refer to the original author of the file.
    • Cat subject: place any categories here which refer to the subject of the file.
    • Cat type: refers to the type of image being uploaded.
      • Relevant categories can be found here.
      • Please only use this field if you are aware of how the image categorization system works. Otherwise, ask an administrator for assistance, or see other file pages for ideas.
