Hello and welcome. :)

We're always in need of good editors, and even though you have limited background knowledge of the series for the moment, there's still plenty you can do to help. The HL2 chapter walkthroughs come to mind. The first few chapters are in good shape, but by and large they need spell checking and rephrasing, need to be checked for consistency of style (use Point Insertion as a model) and could use some demonstrative screenshots here and there to break up the monotonous text. This requires little background knowledge of the series and your help would be much appreciated.

Also, you might want to be extra wary of unmarked spoilers, I'm pretty sure all the character pages have been cleansed of them, but other, more obscure articles that discuss in-game events (such as Combine War or Resistance) may have slipped under the radar, so you might want to steer clear of those kinds of pages until you've completed HL2 and the episodes.

Anyway, welcome to the wiki! --MattyDienhoff 08:22, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Spellchecker[edit]

If only each user had a spellchecker installed. I myself have one, it helps a lot with the editing! Klow 16:35, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Indeed. People make such silly spelling mistakes sometimes, and that's not good for the articles! I have one, and it helps tremendously on the rare occasion I'm not sure of a word. Although, it seems to run primarily by the American spelling of things, and I generally use the British spellings, like colour, and favourite... Oh, well. At least I know they're right. --Stigma-231 we don't go there [Talk] [Cont] 16:45, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
Blimey! Well for this Wiki, Half-Life is American, so you'd want to say "color", "center" or "organize". But there's a British English spellcheck for Firefox, I think. Klow 17:38, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
I know. Same thing goes for Halopedia. I generally use American spellings in the articles, and my usual spelling for more personal things, like my profiles and messages. --Stigma-231 we don't go there [Talk] [Cont] 17:42, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
