Beating the train[edit]
The article says it's no longer possible to beat the train since the Mac Update, but I just tried it today and was able to do it. I had to use turbo, of course, and I didn't have much room to spare, but I did make it. And I'm 99% positive that the game was up-to-date, as I have it set to update automatically. So... that trivia simply isn't true. Maybe it's true on the Mac or something, but not the PC.

Bridge Point is actually used in the Prima Guide.[edit]
Since November 2009, This page has claimed that the name "does not appear in any official source and was merely chosen for convenience." However If you look at the Prima Guide for Half-Life 2, They actually officially refer the area as Bridge Point on Page 11 when discussing New Little Odessa. - https://archive.org/details/Half-Life_2_Prima_Official_eGuide/page/n11/mode/2up
The second major settlement along the coast, this was once a fishing hamlet, but has now been turned into a thoroughfare for resistance forces heading toward the main viaduct, a place called Bridge Point which has recently fallen into Combine hands.
So I wonder would be alright to update the page to cite the guide as the source for the name? Let me know before possibly adding it to the page. --HoodwinkedHalfLifeFan (talk) 07:15, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
- Good find, I think it is enough to add. Given how Odessa says "Use extreme caution when approaching the Bridge [sic, capitalisation]. Radio silence from that outpost leads me to believe it has come under Combine control." and how the PG describes NLO as being there for rebels heading toward that Bridge Point, I find it reasonable to assume the writers of PG were given this exposition by Valve and did not make it up (in some other places PG also quotes some dialogue found exclusively in the HL2 leak, so they must've been given that by Valve). Which to me would mean Bridge Point is all the closer to an official designation, even if only left in the meta sources. I think the note in the BTS section can be omitted now and the "see below" insert be replaced with a simple direct reference to Prima Guide, page 11. Cvoxalury (talk) 10:11, 20 June 2026 (UTC)
