Black Mesa SPAS-12[edit]

Shouldn't we merge this article with the Black Mesa SPAS-12?--CakeMaster7 06:47, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

Please, a TITLE to your topic. And no, these are slightly different weapons, at least in-universe wise. Klow 09:06, July 19, 2010 (UTC)

Featured article.[edit]

I was thinking that this would be a good featured article. It seems to meet all the requirements, plus it would be nice to see a weapon as a featured article again. -Shotgun isthebestgun-

Negative, it doesn't have enough content. Please add to it if you can. Bramblepath 20:05, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

NPC Reloading Animation[edit]

"NPCs and Half-Life 2 Deathmatch's player models have no reloading animations for the SPAS-12." - Alyx has, and quite a flashy one. 194.44.31.194 18:20, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

That's in Episode One... Bramblepath 18:39, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
Sure, but the article doesn't say it deals with HL2 proper only. On the contrary, it says "[SPAS-12] is used by various characters and NPCs in Half-Life 2 and its episodes.". So I think it would be a good idea to clarify. 194.44.31.194 20:12, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
Sure, done. Thanks for noticing that! Bramblepath 20:17, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
Funny - I just have played through "Follow Freeman" and noticed that at least one rebel NPC does have an animation for SPAS-12 reload. I wonder where the original info on its absence came from. Shorr 20:09, November 2, 2010 (UTC)
Hm, not sure. Feel free to remove it from the article. Bramblepath 20:26, November 2, 2010 (UTC)

Done. By the way, "The SPAS-12-using Overwatch Soldiers are suggested to be squad leaders, though they did not have any distinguishing marks until Episode Two" - it looks like total speculation to me. I think this is very unlikely since: 1. It would position squad leaders into inherently very dangerous forward position (and thus would severely reduce their mean survival time); 2. It would make assessment of general tactical situation by squad leaders quite difficult (try that when you're charging the opponent of legendary skills and killing rating, like Freeman :-)); 3. Finally, it would jeopardize the most important duty of squad leader, which is an adequate control and coordination of activities within squad itself and between his squad and other units. So unless it was confirmed or at least hinted at by Valve, I think it shouldn't be mentioned in Trivia, or at least marked as speculation with little foundation. Shorr 08:38, November 3, 2010 (UTC)

It's probably speculation. Feel free to remove that as well. Bramblepath 15:49, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
Done. Shorr 20:02, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
Great! Thanks. Bramblepath 20:03, November 3, 2010 (UTC)
