This article describes the Half-Life: Decay storyline, chapter by chapter.
Chapter 1: Dual Access[edit]
- “Ah, hello Doctors. It's nice to see someone is on time today. Dr. Freeman is running late, again.”

As the game begins, Gina and Colette are tasked to (assist the team at Anomalous Materials) deliver the test sample to Gordon (who's waiting) in the test chamber and activate the Anti-Mass Spectrometer, shortly before the incident occurs. This chapter introduces two major characters, Keller and Rosenberg who help the players throughout the game.
After the disaster, the players head back to the control room. Keller and Rosenberg can be heard discussing what they should do on the intercom. Rosenberg wants to contact the military, so they can bring everyone to safety. Keller, on the other hand, wants to reset the displacement fields first.
They agree to help Rosenberg and escort him to the surface. Keller stays behind to find a clue to what went wrong and how they can right things.
Chapter 2: Hazardous Course[edit]
- “Despite what Dr. Keller believes, our only concern now should be for the people trapped inside Black Mesa. We need to get to the surface to reach the satellite communication equipment. Once they know what's going on, I'm confident they'll immediately send the military in to rescue us.”

Gina and Colette must escort Rosenberg through the Hazard Course in the Training Facility to the surface in order to call for military assistance.
