Request to add/Extracting the Additonal Renders in the Net Test 1 Entity Guide[edit]
So a few weeks ago, I was browsing the Guide included with the Net Test 1 Build and I saw some Additonal Renders that Regan/Frogsnatcher didn't upload on their Blog such as the Stukabat, Panthereye (Which was used as a Placeholder for Mr. Friendly) and the Archer for example, The guide also had entity names listed for the cut monsters as well, Would it be okay to add the extra Renders along with the entity names to their respective pages?
I also wonder how to extract the Images so I can possibly upload them here? I saw info about a tool called Winhlp Decompiler, but I wasn't able to get it to decompile the Help file, So I wonder if there's another way to extract the Additonal Net Test 1 Renders. --HoodwinkedHalfLifeFan (talk) 07:50, 17 August 2025 (MSK)
- The remaining renders from the entity guide are either of unused models that we've always had trivial access to or of final models with no differences, thus are not worth uploading since we already have better renders that we've taken ourselves. If you feel there are any remaining entity guide renders that still warrant inclusion, please point them out.
- As for the entity names, the guide does provide names for some entities that are not yet documented here in their respective articles. They are appropriate for inclusion on the wiki as long as a proper source is provided and they're clearly denoted as being entities that don't actually exist in the released games or any other code we have.
- As for how to decompile HLP files, I used this site. There may be better options out there, but this worked for me. Marphy (talk) 05:14, 19 August 2025 (MSK)
