Nice work[edit]

Nice work man.

I have to say, though, I have serious doubts regarding how reliable the Prima guides are. Even though they're official, they seem to contain goofs, inaccuracies and obsolete information. One example I can think of is The Orange Box Prima guide's explanation of the Antlion Worker.

"According to the Orange Box Prima guide, Acid Antlions are a mutation and subgenus of the normal Antlion. It is rumored that they first sprung from mutated Antlions who burrowed near toxic waste dumps."

This suggests that Workers only appeared after Antlions colonized Earth, which, considering their established role in building and maintaining Antlion nests, their being nothing but a recent mutation seems very unlikely to me. It sounds like this explanation dates from the period in EP2's development when the new Antlion was simply a regular Antlion that glowed and had acidic blood, rather than an entirely new variety that looks very different.

Unfortunately I don't own any of the Prima guides so I can't look for any more inaccuracies, but there have been various times others have quoted weird stuff that doesn't make any sense from them. I really don't trust them. Do you have any objections to putting them in the ambiguous category? --MattyDienhoff 03:59, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Good point. I'll move them. Klow 13:50, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Trailers = noncanon?[edit]

There is no explicit definition about trailers not being canon, or did I miss that paragraph? If there isn't, could someone please add one? RAGe 15:09, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

Well some trailers may be canon if what they show is the same as in the final product, which actually is rarely the case. This is a bit blurry actually, but we indeed should mention them somewhere. Klow 22:15, May 23, 2011 (UTC)
