Clean up status of the Crab Synth entry[edit]
Hi Klow!
I'm a first time editor of the Wiki but have been reading through articles for as long as I can remember.
I've recently gone over the entry for the Crab Synth and believe that I have added a good amount of detail and structure to the article, at least as far as one can from the little information we know about it. I'd love to see if my efforts were enough to have the clean up template removed from the article. If not, could you give me some pointers as what else would be valuable to the article?
I love the Half-life community and cherish the idea of me being able to give back to it, even in such a small way.
Take care and have a great day!

Changing my Username[edit]
Hey Klow, I was just wondering if there's any way to change my username as I'd rather use a different one.
I'm not too familiar with mediawiki so maybe there's a hidden button to do that or admin restricted
I know there are plugins to do it but I'm not sure if that's on this system.
It's ok if not but I would quite like to
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
My current display name is what I'd like to change it to

Your opinion regarding pages I would like to create[edit]
Hey Klow,
Quick disclaimer: Although my account is brand new, I have been an editor on Wikipedia[1] and many other wikis for over a decade and have used Combine OverWiki a ton.
I am reaching out because I am working on an exhaustive list of games set in the Half-Life and Portal universes, including popular mods, and I would like to have your opinion and guidance first before trying to add anything to the Wiki. I want to avoid causing issues by creating something that differs from the norm without asking first.
The reason I wish to create this is that it is a question that comes up regularly online in forums, and I am kinda tired that there is no proper resource that regroups all of these together in clean tables that people can be redirected to. I already have these tables completed in an Excel document and was thinking of porting that over to this wiki, which seems like the best possible place to have these on. The idea would be to have the following tables :
- Official games (including stuff made by people other than Valve like Portal with RTX or Portal 2: The Final Hours)
- Crossover games (things like Bridge Constructor Portal, Pinball FX3: Portal Pinball, etc...)
- Mods available on Steam (Entropy Zero, Portal Revolution, etc...)
The reason I am only listing mods on Steam is that mods are obviously a very blurry area with nothing being official. Not a lot of them are on Steam, and the majority of these are generally considered to be complete and of good quality. There already is a list of mods on the Mods page that contains all kinds of them, but I still think it would be good to have a table that focuses on Steam only. The tables would feature the following information:
- Title
- Developers
- Release year (and ModDB release year too for mods)
- Platform
- Engine
- Universe (HL/Portal)
- Type (FPS, Puzzle, VR experience, Demo, etc, as well as SP/MP/Co-op)
- Status (Released/Early access/In development/etc)
- Steam URL (and ModDB too for mods)
- Steam availability (except for mods)
- Steam achievements (yes/no/special cases like Amalgam)
- Notes
My questions are the following:
- What do you think of this idea? If needed I am available on Discord or anywhere else you'd like to discuss this with you or other admins.
- Would it be okay to add it to the wiki?
- Would it be better to create new pages or add them to existing ones? My opinion would be create template pages for the tables and include them into other pages as templates where and if it fits.
I am eager to hear your opinion. I have been working on this for a while and hope we can make this work somehow, but please don't be afraid to say no, I will understand. Thanks for your admin work in any case.

- Greetings! Sorry for the late reply. That sound great. Add me on Discord, my tag is on my userpage. Klow (talk) 12:49, 1 February 2024 (MSK)
There is a dead link in the talk page disclaimer[edit]
In the disclaimer that appears on talk pages there is a hyperlink telling you to click it to start a new page, however, the link just leads to a 404 page in russian. This confused me for a few months and made me think I couldn't add talk pages for some reason, until I saw the small "add topic" button on the right-ish top corner.
Please update the hyperlink so it would work and not confuse any new users.
Thanks in advance, --JerryDX (talk) 12:09, 23 June 2024 (MSK)
- Hi, which link are you referring to specifically ? Klow (talk) 20:07, 23 June 2024 (MSK)
How do I create a page[edit]
It says I am not able to create pages, what requirements do I need to make one? I plan on translating pages into Portuguese. Tusk Act Minus 1 (talk) 06:05, 17 August 2024 (MSK)
- To combat spam, new accounts must wait 24 hours until they can make new pages. You only have to wait one day until you'll be able to create a page. Marphy (talk) 15:05, 17 August 2024 (MSK)
Can I use the HEV voicelines for getting pt-br translated weapon names or should I use the English ones as the page's main names. It has a tendency to use pompous words like how the Satchel Charge is called the "Remote-activated demolition unit" and the Tripmine is "Laser-activated anti-personnel mine" Tusk Act Minus 1 (talk) 14:29, 20 August 2024 (MSK)
- The HEV Suit weapon lines are unused and not all representative of the final weapons. The current English articles are based on the official titles outlined in the Prima guide and should be used as the basis for translations. Marphy (talk) 18:24, 20 August 2024 (MSK)
Where you got that Xen concept art from?[edit]
It sources Half-Life instruction manual, but when I find it, the art is obscured.

- I manually extracted them from the PDF in Illustrator. That's just what worked back then. Klow (talk) 23:00, 15 November 2024 (MSK)
