On your current workflow[edit]
Greetings. I think I'll get straight to the point... your current workflow involves uploading copious amounts of google translated texts to quickly plug in dozens (maybe it's already hundreds) of items and quick page translations. That's not... helpful.
What there already is, will take days to edit into something actually meaningful in Russian. What would be really helpful? Translating templates (by hand). Translating categories. That sort of thing.
I woke up today to seeing the Did You know/ru template and it gave me a small heart attack.
It's not just the quality of translation. I often see it wreck links, break tags, and there's the fact it often mistranslates something that's officially translated. The lack of manual correction on your part, how automated your workflow is, at this point.
I know that you said you're going to fix it over time. But things tend to take longer than we expect, so who knows if a particular very visible item will be there for days? weeks? months? Maybe it's better to not upload something until you've gone over it - keep it in a private document or something. I'm not sure COW has a separate space for WIP pages, but I just use Google Docs.
We both want to achieve the best result but we see the path differently. Cvoxalury (talk) 11:58, 13 August 2023 (MSK)
Hi, well, now everything is shifting more towards finalizing certain pages (For example, now I am working on finalizing the main page and everything connected with it) of the pages that are not fully translated / or translated by machine translation without editing, only 2 pages are antlion/ru and Half-Life_and_Portal_universe/ru. I'm glad that you also started working on the translation of the combine over wiki, i am confident that together we will achieve success. And please leave your contacts (desired discord) as I don't really enjoy posting on the wiki. Ward (talk) 12:22, 13 August 2023 (MSK)
