Re: Main Page logos (blue)

Yes, I can! SiPlus 13:35, 22 January 2013 (GMT)

Fixed. SiPlus 12:36, 26 January 2013 (GMT)

I have several questions about articles.

First. In Wallace Breen article, it says: Doctor Breen is Administrator of the Black Mesa Research Facility at the time of the Black Mesa Incident in 200-. During the events depicted in Half-Life, he is neither seen nor directly mentioned by name, instead always referred to as "the Administrator". At the end of the Seven Hour War, he "negotiates" a peace agreement with the Combine that saves humanity, but at the cost of enslavement. Breen is first appointed "Interim Administrator" (as seen on newspaper clips in Black Mesa East), then simply becomes ruler of Earth - mostly a puppet of the Combine who have little physical presence on the planet. Some speculate he may have orchestrated the events of Half-Life at the request of the Combine, with the rule of Earth promised as reward (this however would also suggest that he or the Combine had control of the G-Man at least up to the point where he handed over Xen crystal sample GG-3883 to the Black Mesa scientists which caused the Resonance Cascade); others believe that he may have been under the impression that introducing the Combine would have brought about a cosmic unity between the two races, and would have been ultimately beneficial for the human race (something that he still clings on to despite the evidently large amounts of humans suffering at the time of Combine occupation of Earth). Whether or not he is the one who introduced the Combine to Earth, his intentions seem to be noble and he sounds quite sure that he is doing the right thing - though it is possible that he is simply a very convincing liar. Even if he had selfish reasons for doing so, the human race would have most definitely been completely destroyed or assimilated by the Combine had he not surrendered Earth at the end of the Seven Hour War.

Does this means Wallace Breen orchestrated some events of Half-Life and introduced Combine to Earth? And there's two possible reasons about why he introduced Combine to Earth?

Second. In Cave johnson article, it says: Later in 1968, Aperture was declared bankrupt. As a result, the company could no longer afford esteemed members of society for testing, and resorted to collecting homeless people from the street to participate in testing for the promise of sixty dollars. Johnson was quite bitter about Aperture's bankruptcy, and did not attempt to hide his dislike for the homeless people he was forced to hire. Johnson blamed Black Mesa for Aperture's financial troubles, claiming that the rival company was stealing their ideas. However, Johnson could not support these accusations and Black Mesa remained the more stable company.[5]

Does this also means Johnson claimed the rival company was stealing their ideas because he blamed Black Mesa for Aperture's financial troubles?

And last. In Black Mesa Incident article, it says: Although the incident is largely considered to be a terrible accident, there is incidental evidence which suggests it is to some extent engineered. The Nihilanth seems to have been planning the invasion from Xen for some time,[44] and the G-Man more than once hints at his own manipulations of the affair, most notably when he whispers to Eli Vance just before the the Resonance Cascade to "prepare for unforeseen consequences".[9] To what extent either of these individuals were involved in the authoring of the incident is not at this time known. Adrian Shephard's diary entries also seem to suggest that the event is planned to a degree, as Shephard and the HECU are training and preparing for the mission to Black Mesa a week before the incident even happens.[50]

So, does this means Black Mesa Incident is not Black Mesa's fault but G-Man(and others)'s fault?

English is not my native language. So I have a problem about understanding these articles. Excuse me about asking these things to you. But I have heard you are the person writing most content of this wiki. — Unsigned comment by 180.229.237.15

Hello there. About Breen, it's likely that he had something to do with the events of Half-Life, yes. But we're sure of nothing, and Valve neither I guess. About Cave, I don't understand your question. About the incident, we don't know, it's open to speculation. It was just not an accident, that we know for sure. Sorry for not knowing much more than you do, I'm just another HL fan! ;) Also, don't be afraid to register, it'll be more convenient. Klow 22:10, 2 February 2013 (GMT)

Re: Embedding Special:NewPages

I don't think I can help. I tried to use regular expressions, but Special:NewPages generates a lot of HTML, and even simple patterns give completely wrong results. SiPlus 05:25, 5 February 2013 (GMT)

Do you need me to do anything?

Seriously, I'm bored and I'm feeling helpful. Anything? --Parnifia 17:02, 8 February 2013 (GMT)

Yes yes yes! If you're still bored, clean articles up! The list is here! ;) Klow 11:15, 9 February 2013 (GMT)

Themes of the Half-Life series

Hi there. Another moderator, SiPlus, directed me to talk to you about a certain issue. Having recently joined this wiki, I created a page discussing the major themes and symbols of the Half-Life series, but SiPlus took the page down telling me that it was not an appropriate article for this wiki. I don't want to cause trouble, and if you agree that the article is not appropriate then I will drop the issue, but SiPlus asked me to talk to you, and I am just wondering what your opinion is on the matter, since you are an administrator as well.

Thank you. ThePerson5 21:07, 12 February 2013 (GMT)

Thanks Klow, I really appreciate it! :) ThePerson5 00:50, 17 February 2013 (GMT)

Hey Klow, I was just wondering if the 'Recurring Themes' page could be added to the list on the 'cleanup' page: http://combineoverwiki.net/wiki/OverWiki:Projects/Cleanup This would help people notice it, and maybe work on it. Thanks! ThePerson5 03:47, 23 February 2013 (GMT)

Hey, I've expanded on my 'themes' article quite a bit: Recurring themes

It would be great if you could take a look and proofread it. I'm still planning on adding more.

Thanks,

ThePerson5 (talk) 12:33, 25 March 2013 (GMT)

Ok, I'll have a look! Also, don't link internal links that way. Just put the article name into double brackets, without underscores (simple brackets and underscores are for external links). I corrected your link so that you understand what I mean. Klow (talk) 12:59, 25 March 2013 (GMT)
Sure thing! ThePerson5 (talk) 17:06, 25 March 2013 (GMT)
Thanks for the help! :) ThePerson5 (talk) 00:25, 28 March 2013 (GMT)

So, what is the process while the article is pending review? Should I not make any changes to it in the meantime? Thanks. ThePerson5 (talk) 03:10, 31 March 2013 (BST)

Well it just needs to be reviewed by an admin, but anyone is still free to edit it obviously! It's not locked or anything. ;) Klow (talk) 11:24, 31 March 2013 (BST)

Combine Sentry Gun

Hi! I want to know if there's something I have to do more about making Combine Sentry Gun article safe or cleaned up. Thank you for your time! Sandvich18 16:18, 15 February 2013 (GMT)

Nice, I'll have a look! Klow 19:25, 16 February 2013 (GMT)

You know, I fixed it back then. Told you on Steam! ;) Klow (talk) 08:50, 26 February 2013 (GMT)

Achievements

Hi! I made a document with achievements and articles I think they should be related to. Please tell me what you think. Download Sandvich18 14:38, 24 February 2013 (GMT)

Could you please have a look at that this weekend? Sandvich18 (talk) 10:56, 9 March 2013 (GMT)
Sorry but I can't find the download button. Why don't you use Google Docs or Zshare or Pastebin? Klow (talk) 12:15, 9 March 2013 (GMT)
Just click on the achievement.docx. If you prefer - Download. — Unsigned comment by Sandvich18
Ok good. So now how are you planning to use all that info? Klow (talk) 13:07, 10 March 2013 (GMT)
I want to add achievements to articles and I'd like to know how do you think about it - if some of them should be in the article or not. Sorry for not signing the previous comment btw. Sandvich18 (talk) 13:18, 10 March 2013 (GMT)
Well, most Achievements have been added to the relevant articles for now. Here you will find how to include them properly into articles. Klow (talk) 13:56, 25 March 2013 (GMT)

Wiki-Fi

Hey there. I've been working on a little side project that I thought you might be interested in. It was originally intended for the Team Fortress and Portal Wiki but I've extended it to more, including this wiki. Hope you find it useful :) Moussekateer (talk) 00:59, 17 March 2013 (GMT)

That's interesting but that doesn't include our Wikia edits, unfortunately... I had reached 89,935 edits there before being permabanned. Klow (talk) 13:57, 25 March 2013 (GMT)

GLaDOS' testing track (Portal 2), Test Subject

Hey, I cleaned up the GLaDOS' testing track (Portal 2) article and tried to clean up the Test Subject article (generally, I only added images, updated the Test Subjects list and made some minor changes, but the rest doesn't look bad to me). If you have time, please have a look at them (especially the first one). Thanks! Sandvich18 (talk) 20:26, 25 March 2013 (GMT)

Ok thanks, I'll keep these in mind! Klow (talk) 20:31, 25 March 2013 (GMT)

Aperture Science Speaker System

Hi! When does exactly the Speaker System appear in Peer Review? Pixeled sandvich.png18 (Commentary node transparent.png) 17:14, 27 August 2013 (BST)

Well, isn't it agreed that each time GLaDOS is heard it's through the Speaker System? Or maybe the system is visible at some point?... Klow (talk) 08:00, 29 August 2013 (BST)

End message images

Hey Klow. Any chance of you uploading images of the end messages from Half-Life, just so we have the whole collection? It's been really bugging me. :P NoriMori (talk) 19:56, 30 August 2013 (BST)

Clean Up template in former wiki?

Hi, Klow. I don't know but would the users still get blocked from removing Clean up template in the old wiki? That template seem to be useless since you leave from there.-- Gumball Watterson (reply) 01:21, 16 November 2013 (GMT)

Do you mean blocked here or on Wikia?... I'm confused. Klow (talk) 14:14, 2 December 2013 (GMT)
Old wiki. Half-Life wiki.-- Gumball Watterson (reply) 12:35, 4 December 2013 (GMT)
It's a leftover, nobody here cares about it. And Klow is permablocked everywhere on Wikia. You should ask the admins of that wiki, not this. SiPlus (talk) 13:16, 4 December 2013 (GMT)
Ok-- Gumball Watterson (reply) 16:17, 6 December 2013 (GMT)
Indeed, I don't see why you're asking something this specific here, a completely unrelated wiki. Just ask the admins there, makes sense, isn't it?... Klow (talk) 16:27, 6 December 2013 (GMT)
Ok, sorry my bad. I thought that you still know about that. Ok i will ask KATANAGOD.-- Gumball Watterson (reply) 14:42, 7 December 2013 (GMT)
Ok, i asked KATANAGOD, they said it not a best idea to keep the old rules. He also granted me a Admin (not to be confused as Bureaucrat) because lot of edits and trusted user. I hope you don't mind but i changed a very little rules about that template: The user won't get blocked if they remove a template, but they still need to give a notice to a admin, but the cleanED up template i changed to "don't remove this template until the status is given" instead of getting blocked.-- Gumball Watterson (reply) 18:42, 10 December 2013 (GMT)
Not to be rude but why the hell do you tell us about all those changes? Pixeled sandvich.png18 (Commentary node transparent.png) 19:56, 10 December 2013 (GMT)
OKOK, i stop talking about old wiki. Don't be mad! I'm sorry for the stupid things about old wiki.-- Gumball Watterson (reply) 20:38, 10 December 2013 (GMT)
Not to be rude as well, but who cares? This is not our concern. You are free to contribute on both wikis but what happens there is the least of our worries. Klow (talk) 20:21, 11 December 2013 (GMT)
I'm sorry, i'm goes little too far about the old things. OK, i won't say anything about that wiki anymore. Sorry for annoying but i have some problems with conservation that i talk too much at some points, my friend also thinks that i have this problem too.:)-- Gumball Watterson (reply) 22:15, 11 December 2013 (GMT)
It's alright! ;) Klow (talk) 18:14, 12 December 2013 (GMT)
Good, thank you for forgiving me, I will try not say anything about that.-- Gumball Watterson (reply) 06:08, 13 December 2013 (GMT)
