I've noticed in the article it's referring to these Headcrabs as a subspecies, is there any source for this? I got the impression that they were just regular Headcrabs that had been infested with some of the growths found in the Quarantine Zone, since some growths identical to the Armoured Headcrabs shells can be seen on walls etc. -Jaroch2 (talk) 04:44, 11 April 2020 (MSK)

The use of the term "subspecies" looks like it was just language carried over from the other Headcrab articles, but upon review, there's never been any indication that these different Headcrab types are subspecies of one another. I've replaced the term with the more generic "variation" since that's far more accurate to what we know. Marphy (talk) 08:26, 11 April 2020 (MSK)
