Half-Life goo?

Should this article include the radioactive waste in the Half-Life games? --Ihonnyboy (talk) 06:58, 17 October 2021 (MSK)

No. The article is specifically for the engineered obstacle found in Aperture Science, while the waste from the Half-Life games is just generic environmental waste with little significance. It can be kept to the small mention in behind the scenes. Mystyle (talk) 04:09, 18 October 2021 (MSK)

Undoing of my minor edits

I have been attempting to make a relatively minor yet meaningful revision to this page by removing the word "ditto" from several image captions. This term is informal English slang and does not align with the formal tone and standards expected in a wiki entry. My goal is to enhance the professionalism and readability of the page.

The repeated reversion of these changes does not appear to align with the "revert only when necessary" philosophy, which prioritizes constructive collaboration. I believe my edits are justified and made in good faith, as they are minor, and aim to improve the article's quality and consistency.

If there are objections to my changes, I kindly request that they be addressed through adjusting edits, or by proposing an alternative phrasing, rather than blanket reversion. The current use of "ditto" in image galleries to alleviate the need for continual repetition in captions has been part of the standard formatting on this particular wiki for many years now. To deviate from its use would be creating an inconsistency at this point. That said, it's by no means a fixed guideline that can't be revised, but changing its use now would require a general proposal for the entire wiki since replacing it entails a large scale effort across many, many articles. Is "ditto" that informal? I can see people online saying it is, but it's not marked as such in dictionaries like Merriam-Webster or on Wiktionary, and I can see it being used in articles on BBC for example. When I looked at the edited version of the article, using longer repetetive descriptions did not make it any easier to read, and looked more robotic without adding to the 'professional' measure of the style. How is repeating the image labels with enumeration, constructive? What if the gallery is expanded or contracted in the future - going through every label and adjusting the numbers in each is added tedium. I do not think replacing "ditto" was improving the article.
