The Blob is an enemy that was developed for the cancelled Half-Life 2: Episode Three.[1]
Contents
Overview[edit]
In-game, it shows up as error.mdl, due to its model missing. Upon finding an enemy, it will come into contact in it and "consume" the enemy, dealing 5 points of damage every 0.0225 seconds.
Its actual appearance, seen in the Half-Life 2: 20th Anniversary Documentary, is a transparent like blob with thorn like tentacles on the inside connected to a "brain". This may explain the "absorption" attack. In the Source Particle Benchmark, the Blob takes the appearance of multiple Snarks with no animation.
Fate[edit]
Some of its code was reused to make the Mobility Gels in Portal 2.
