Half-Life 2 RTX: An RTX Remix Project is an upcoming community-made remaster of Half-Life 2 first announced on August 22, 2023 at Gamescom 2023. Four modding teams (Half-Life 2: VR, Half-Life 2: Remade Assets, Project 17, and Raising the Bar: Redux)[2] joined together to form Orbifold Studios to develop the project in collaboration with NVIDIA.[1]
A demo containing levels from the chapters "We Don't Go To Ravenholm..." and Nova Prospekt was released on March 18, 2025.[3]
Overview[edit]
Created using NVIDIA's RTX Remix modding tool, Half-Life 2 RTX aims to remaster the game by recreating models and materials in high fidelity with PBR properties, adding extra details to levels using Hammer, and implementing ray tracing.[1]
