The AR1 is a weapon cut from Half-Life 2. Inspired by the real-world AK-47 (although the model is based of the AKM), it can be found in the playable Half-Life 2 leak.[2]
Overview[edit]
In the playable Half-Life 2 leak, not all the weapons can be spawned with impulse 101
. To spawn the AR1, give weapon_ar1
must be entered. The model has no animations and appears carried with one hand only (the left hand is on the far left, with the weapon textures instead of the hand ones). It uses medium rounds, the same rounds used by the AR2 and Submachine Gun. It is unknown what faction was to use this weapon.
In the leaked build, the AR1 has five selectable rates of fire which can be cycled through the secondary fire key. These range from fast to very slow, with the slower modes dealing more damage than the faster modes. When the fire mode is changed, a message consisting of four dashes and a pipe character will be printed in the console, which represents the gun's current fire mode.
An early texture for the AR1 can be found in the playable Half-Life 2 leak files, in the folder "materials/Models/Weapons/Obsolete/V_ak47".
In the Half-Life 2 files, several texture files for HUD weapon icons can be found, most of which still containing the icons for almost all of the cut weapons. The AR1 is among them.
The bolt and the fire mode selector appear on the left side, while they should be on the right.
