Valve has often partnered with other companies to feature elements from their Half-Life and Portal franchises in other media. This article lists official Half-Life and Portal crossovers as well as smaller official cross-promotions.

Death Stranding[edit]

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim[edit]

In celebration of the release of the game's Steam Workshop, Valve and Bethesda created Fall of the Space Core, Vol. 1 as an official mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Featuring Portal 2's Space Core, the mod was made available on PC through the Steam Workshop on February 7, 2012.[1][2]

Escape Simulator[edit]

FINAL FANTASY XV[edit]

The Steam release of FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION offers a Half-Life pack through the Steam Workshop which includes an in-game costume for the character Noctis based on Gordon Freeman consisting of an HEV Suit, Scientist Glasses, and Crowbar.[3] While initially only intended to be a pre-order exclusive, due to popular demand, the pack was made available indefinitely for free.[4]

The Last of Us Part I[edit]

The PC release of The Last of Us Part I on Steam contains two new exclusive shirts for the character Ellie to wear in-game. These two shirts are based on the Valve games Left 4 Dead and Portal.

Minecraft[edit]

Skin Pack 3 for the Legacy Console and Bedrock editions of Minecraft features skins of multiple characters from several games, including select characters from the Half-Life and Portal franchises, namely:

Ninja Reflex: Steamworks Edition[edit]

Originally for the Wii and Nintendo DS, the PC release of Ninja Reflex on Steam, known as Ninja Reflex: Steamworks Edition, introduced numerous Half-Life and Portal references in its mini-games.

Peggle Extreme[edit]

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted[edit]

In the remaster Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, new in-game customization options were added for the zombies. This includes a Head Crab Zombie skin which replaces the Conehead Zombie with a Headcrab-wearing zombie in a lab coat and tie, thus recreating the appearance of the original Half-Life's Zombie scientists. The game's "Life Half Full" achievement requires toggling the skin on for the first time. This Head Crab Zombie skin is also prominently featured in the game's launch trailer.[5]

Poker Night at the Inventory[edit]

In the 2026 remaster, after unlocking and activating the Inventory Security playing table, the G-Man may appear on its monitors.

As part of the PotatoFoolsDay ARG, The Ball received a new Portal-themed DLC level on April 12, 2011.[6][7] Portal 2's Robot Enrichment received a Ball-themed flag cosmetic.

Defense Grid: The Awakening[edit]

Portal 2's Robot Enrichment received a Defense Grid-themed flag cosmetic.

Killing Floor[edit]

As part of the PotatoFoolsDay ARG, Killing Floor received the Portal-themed map Aperture on April 12, 2011.[8][9] During the initial run of the event, the game's Trader character was also replaced in all maps by GLaDOS (and represented physically in the levels by an unnamed Personality Core with a red eye) with a complete set of new voice lines. Portal 2's Robot Enrichment received a Killing Floor-themed flag cosmetic.

Renegade Ops[edit]

In the PC version of Renegade Ops, the Muscle Car appears as a selectable vehicle which is driven by Gordon Freeman.[10] The car features a multitude of different abilities, such as mounted weapons, upgrades, and Antlions that can be summoned at will.
