The Black Hole Gun is a weapon cut from Half-Life, originally designed for Quiver.[1]
[edit] Overview
To be used by the Alien Grunt, it was to be maintained by a Roswell-like alien, apparently to be directly connected to the device and installed in some sort of backpack worn by the Alien Grunt. Partially chromed, it was to be equipped by a control panel located on the Alien Grunt's torso, which was to be used with the right arm, the left arm used to hold the weapon. It was eventually replaced by the simpler Hivehand, while the concept was brought back for Half-Life 2 as the Combine Guard Gun, the Strider's cannon, and above all the Vortex Hopwire, which seems to have the same effects.
