Anthony Tiran "Tony" Todd was an American actor who provided the voices of the Vortigaunts in Half-Life 2: Episode Two and Half-Life: Alyx.[2]
Biography[edit]
Todd was born Timothy Henry Todd in Washington, D.C. but grew up in Hartford, Connecticut. Todd was best known for his role in Candyman, Final Destination and 24.
According to Bill Van Buren, in Tony Todd's reading for Episode Two, Valve heard new possibilities for a Vortigaunt who was more of a mystic martial artist. With new attack animations and companion behavior, they worked with Tony to build the Vortigaunt into a powerful ally, a "full-on alien ass-kicker".[3]
On November 6, 2024, Todd passed away in his home in Los Angeles, California.[1]
