Yatsze Mark is an artist who worked as a texture artist for Valve. She is the wife of Harry Teasley, who also worked at Valve. The picture of their daughter Isabel was used for the one found in Gordon Freeman's locker in Half-Life, and her name was originally to be seen in an office. Mark's surname was also to appear in Half-Life as an Easter egg on a Sector C locker.
Biography[edit]
Mark graduated from the San Francisco State University in 1987, and the Pasadena Art Center College of Design in 1993.[1]
After her graduation from the Art Center College of Design, she worked at Leland Interactive Media. She then worked at Lightspan Partnership in San Diego, doing background painting for traditional cel animation in educational games. She then joined Valve in 1996, which she left in 1998. She worked for Turbine from 2005 to 2006, and is currently a freelance work-for-hire illustrator who works for magazine, web, or computer game development clients, a job held since 1999.[1][2]
Work for Half-Life[edit]
Mark created world and model textures for the game, including those of the beverage machines and the Gonarch.[3]
