The Weapon Box is a casket used by the Black Mesa survey teams to carry weapons, ammunition, batteries and medkits on Xen.

Overview

• Most of the time, weapon boxes are found throughout Xen near the remains of survey team members.

• In Half-Life's Deathmatch mode, weapon boxes are dropped by dead players. When picked up, it gives the user ammunition and the last weapon used by the late player.

Behind the scenes

Originally, the number 3 was on the Weapon Box instead of 8. This can be seen in the source file for the texture in the Half-Life SDK.
