Combine Lights are portable light sources used to illuminate dark areas in support of Combine operations.

Overview[edit]
The Combine Light's bar-shaped casing houses a rectangular illuminator as well as two smaller round lights mounted on the top, emitting turquoise-colored rays. In Half-Life: Alyx, these devices are sometimes seen projecting red lights, and a smaller variant of them is installed in elevators.
They are fitted with tripod mounts that can be configured to both sit on the ground or attach to walls. They can be found in many areas, from small outposts to inside the Citadel itself. Interestingly enough, the direction of the beam it projects is not directly related to the orientation of the device itself. Most of them are not visibly linked to any electrical generators and appear to have an internal power source, while some lights placed on rock faces around the Citadel are connected to the wiring.
