The Wonderland is a map in the multiplayer mode of Half-Life: Opposing Force. It was added in the Opposing Force CTF update.
Overview[edit]
|
The Wonderland is a large, symmetrical map set in a mountain overlooking the Black Mesa Research Facility.
The Wonderland, alongside HairBall and the Command Point version of Paradox Park, is one of only three Opposing Force multiplayer maps to use Penguins. Here, they can be located on rocks just outside of the bunkers alongside a Displacer Cannon and its ammo, which require grappling with the Barnacle Grapple to get to.
Backstory[edit]
- "About once every 75 years, the temperature in the peaks over the Black Mesa facility drops to below freezing. The older bunkers there become blanketed with snow and the river becomes covered in ice. For the first time, the pure, white terrain was scarred with the colors of battle as military death squads captured one of the abandoned bunkers in order to stage an assault on the Black Mesa personnel defending another bunker nearby."

Behind the Scenes[edit]
The sewers seen in the bases reuse the sewer design and layout from the map Lost Outpost with minor changes.
Trivia[edit]
Along with HairBall, when walking on the frozen river's ice, the player's movement becomes slippery and remains so on every surface even after stepping off of the ice.
Gallery[edit]
Ditto, the machine gun room.
