The Surprise Box is a purchasable item (used as a weapon game-wise) in the Battle Mode of Half-Life 2: Survivor, available to the Resistance Soldier and the Resistance Sniper for 200,000 SG. It was added to the game in the 2.05 update,[1] which was released on December 17, 2008.[2] Combine characters have the Marking Sniper Rifle available instead of it.

Overview[edit]
The player can place the Surprise Box by using the primary attack while standing near a suitable surface. The box is not placed immediately and requires the placing animation to finish first. If after the animation has finished the area is no longer suitable for placement due to it becoming obstructed or the player moving somewhere else, the placement is cancelled and the Surprise Box does not get used.
The Surprise Box looks and functions similarly to the Supply Crate: when broken, it will spawn a randomly selected item. The possible contents include recovery items (medkits and batteries), SMG ammo (both bullets and grenades) and various drinks (Jump Drink, Power Drink, Mind Drink).
Contents[edit]
The Surprise Box may contain one of the following items or sets of items:

38% |
2 × SMG ammo (45 bullets each) |
35% |
