Xen Dance (CTF) is a map in the multiplayer mode of Half-Life: Opposing Force. It is a Capture The Flag version of the map Xen Dance. It was added in the Opposing Force CTF update.

Overview[edit]

Much like the original Deathmatch version, Xen Dance is a large, open map set somewhere in the borderworld, Xen. The openness of Xen Dance provides a lot of sightlines for players using the Sniper Rifle, and a lot of room to maneuver with the Barnacle Grapple.

This version of the map features some changes to its layout to better fit the CTF mode, most notably removing the spawn island in favor of having players teleport directly into the main area. However, the spawn points are high enough to deal fall damage upon landing. There are "supply" islands for both teams, only accessible via the Displacer Cannon's alt-fire. These islands share the same loot with one another, and players are able to return to the main area by a teleporter.

Both teams' "bases" are marked by tinted spires; orange for the Black Mesa team and green for the Opposing Force.

Backstory[edit]

"The battle for Black Mesa has taken a turn for the worse as the unstable dimentional rifts become more and more dramatic. Now entire groups locked in battle are finding themselves suddenly and unexpectedly teleported across space to the border world known as "Xen". But even in the strange new surroundings, the battle rages on."
